Q: What is Media Encryption?
A:
Media encryption is the automatic encryption of removable storage media that can be attached to your computer system. This includes thumb drives, USB flash drives, backup hard drives, CDs and DVDs, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: External Drives over 1TB or 1000GB are not supported.

Q: Which compliance agent should I download? 32Bit/64Bit?
A:
Most PCs will be 32Bit Systems and the 32 Bit agent should be downloaded. If you purchased a desktop or laptop within the last 6 months with more than 4GB of memory, you may have purchased a 64Bit OS. If you are unsure, please Right Click on My Computer, select Properties. You will see the following on a Windows 7 32 Bit operating system.

Here is an example of Windows XP Professional. There is no 64Bit designation. This system is a 32Bit Operating System.

Q: What are the minimum specifications?
A:
Please review your machine and verify you are meeting the following minimum requirements

NOTE: to obtain the operating system and hardware information, <right-click> on the icon, found on your desktop, that is titled “My Computer”, and select Properties.Review the information noted under the “General” tab.

To obtain your disk space usage, <right-click> on the Start Menu and choose Explorer. <Right-click> on the C: drive and select Properties.

Q: How do I know which security applications I am lacking to be compliant?
A:
Once the installation of the Check Point compliance agent has been completed, you will receive pop-ups from your system tray regarding compliance:

You will receive a pop-up window for each compliance scan that your device fails, up to three times. You may also see the list of compliance warnings by right-clicking on the gold padlock in the system tray.

Windows Select Display Overview. The Check Point Endpoint Security window will load. From the menu on the left, select Overview-Detail.

Click Compliance Blade Warning. You will be given a list of all non-compliance warnings:

Q: How do I know if I am compliant?

You will not receive pop-up warnings informing you are non-compliant.
If you only receive a warning that you are non-compliant for Media Encryption only PRIOR to purchasing products from Brite, you will not be required to purchase Media Encryption.

Q: What is the purpose of these applications?
A:
As you may have read in the news, data theft is at an all time high and the effects on the business can be detrimental. As a result, , to comply with National Life Groups policies and procedures, all career agents are required to install certain software on computers they use to access or store the Personal Information of our customers.
As part of your agreement with National Life, we are mandating the use of approved anti-malware software. A list of approved vendors of anti-malware can be found Approved Security Software. In addition, we are also requiring the encryption of computers, both laptops and desktops, which are used to access or store the Personal Information of our customers.

Yes, National Life is requiring the agent to be installed on all machines to verify compliance with the National Life Groups policies and procedures.

Q: My system is reporting User Acquisition as the status
A:
Typically, a PC that stays in a User Acquisition state because the active user does not use a password to log into Windows. You will need to either provide a password for the account or to log onto the device with another account that utilizes a password. Once a password is provided and the active user logs out and back into Windows, the machine will begin the encryption process. Note: a reboot will be required before the disk will encrypt.

A: Bluetooth devices should have no issue connecting to your PC. In rare instances, we have seen some older Dell Bluetooth keyboards not connecting to the PC following installation of the encryption software.

These issues appear to have been fixed in newer versions of the Dell’s keyboards. Should your Bluetooth keyboard fail to respond following installation of the encryption software, reloading the Bluetooth drivers that came with the keyboard will often fix the issue. If you cannot find the drivers or have questions, please contact the Brite Help Desk at 1-855-267-6252.

A: Given the current configuration, CD’s and DVD’s can only be burned using the Checkpoint Burning Tool or Nero Version 9 or higher. No other options, such as Roxio, are supported.
